June 14, 2024 ‖ In a heartwarming demonstration of community spirit and environmental stewardship, the Quezon Metropolitan Water District actively participates in coastal cleaning efforts, making a significant impact on the preservation of their local ecosystems. The Local Government of Lucena City hosts the "Iyam-Dumacaa River System Water Quality Management Area Mangrove Planting, Clean-up, and IEC Activities" in celebration of Environment Month.

This event features a dual focus: a coastal clean-up at Brgy. Ransohan, Lucena City, and a tree planting initiative at Brgy. Barra, Lucena City. The aim is not only to enhance the natural beauty and health of these areas but also to raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation.

The coastal clean-up at Brgy. Ransohan sees dedicated efforts from a diverse group of participants, including Barangay Ransohan personnel, the Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau-DENR, the Environment and Natural Resources Office of the Provincial Government of Quezon, and the Local Government of Tayabas City. The Department of Education Region-4A, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region-4A, the Environmental Management Bureau Region-4A, the Department of Trade and Industry Region-4A, and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources - PENRO Quezon also lend their support, demonstrating a unified approach to environmental care.

Simultaneously, at Brgy. Barra, tree planting efforts are bolstered by the presence of Barangay Barra personnel, the Local Government of Lucban Quezon, the National Irrigation Administration Region-4A, and the Department of Public Works and Highways. This initiative not only aims to combat deforestation but also to enhance the local habitat and biodiversity.

These activities underscore the collective commitment of various organizations and community members towards a greener, more sustainable future. By coming together for these crucial environmental efforts, the Quezon Metropolitan community exemplifies the power of unity and proactive action in safeguarding our planet for future generations
